Description

Château Poitevin is a renowned producer of Cru Bourgeois Médoc wines, located in the heart of the Médoc region in Bordeaux, France. The history of the estate dates back to the 18th century, when it was owned by the Poitevin family. In the 19th century, the estate was acquired by the Castéja family, who have been managing it ever since.

The vineyards of Château Poitevin cover 40 hectares of gravelly soil, which is ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the best quality fruit is used in the winemaking process.

The winemaking process at Château Poitevin is a traditional one, with a focus on preserving the natural character of the grapes. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks, and then aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months. The resulting wines are elegant and complex, with a deep ruby color and aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and vanilla.

Château Poitevin produces a range of wines, including its flagship Cru Bourgeois Médoc, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. This wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, and has a rich, full-bodied flavor with notes of black fruit, spice, and tobacco.

In addition to its Cru Bourgeois Médoc, Château Poitevin also produces a second wine, called Château La Rose Poitevin. This wine is made from younger vines, and is aged for 9 months in oak barrels. It has a lighter, fruitier flavor than the Cru Bourgeois Médoc, with notes of red fruit and vanilla.

Overall, Château Poitevin is a producer of high-quality, traditional Bordeaux wines, with a focus on preserving the natural character of the grapes. Its wines are elegant, complex, and full of flavor, making them a popular choice among wine enthusiasts around the world.
