Description

Jagermeister is a German herbal liqueur that has been produced since 1935. It is made from a blend of 56 different herbs, fruits, roots, and spices, including anise, ginger, citrus peel, and juniper berries. The recipe for Jagermeister is a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few people at the company.

Jagermeister is produced using a unique process that involves macerating the herbs and spices in alcohol for several days before distilling the mixture. The resulting distillate is then blended with sugar and water to create the final product. The liqueur is aged in oak barrels for up to a year before being bottled.

Jagermeister is typically served as a digestif, either chilled or at room temperature. It is also a popular ingredient in cocktails, particularly those that feature a strong, herbal flavour. Some of the most popular cocktails that include Jagermeister are the Jager Bomb, which is made by dropping a shot of Jagermeister into a glass of energy drink, and the Jagerita, which is a Jagermeister-based version of a Margarita.

Jagermeister has a long and interesting history. The liqueur was originally created by Curt Mast, who was the son of the founder of Mast-Jagermeister AG. Mast was a passionate hunter, and he created Jagermeister as a drink that would be enjoyed by hunters after a successful day in the field. The name Jagermeister means "master of the hunt" in German.

Over the years, Jagermeister has become a popular drink around the world. It is particularly popular in the United States, where it is often consumed as a party drink. Despite its popularity, Jagermeister remains a unique and distinctive drink that is enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are looking for a digestif to enjoy after a meal or a cocktail ingredient that will add a strong, herbal flavour to your drink, Jagermeister is an excellent choice.

Tasting notes

Cult German herb liqueur, blessed with a highly unusual love-it-or-hate-it flavour. Jagermeister's bittersweet flavours are best appreciated ice-cold in a frozen glass, but in recent years it's attracted a huge cult following as a result of the Jager Bomb cocktail (mixed with Red Bull or other energy drinks)..
