Description

Château de Laubade is a renowned producer of Armagnac, a type of brandy originating from the Gascony region of France. Founded in 1832, the estate is located in the Bas-Armagnac region, renowned for its high-quality Armagnac production.

Château de Laubade is renowned for its X.O. Armagnac, a blend of eaux-de-vie aged for a minimum of six years in oak barrels. The X.O. is a complex and full-bodied spirit, with aromas of dried fruits, spices, and wood. On the palate, it is smooth and mellow, with notes of vanilla, prunes, and nuts. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of sweetness.

Château de Laubade X.O. is a perfect accompaniment to a variety of desserts, or enjoyed neat as an after-dinner digestif. Enjoy this exquisite spirit and savor the unique flavors of the Bas-Armagnac region.

Tasting notes

Made on the property with the greatest respect for tradition, this Armagnac is an XO, meaning that the eaux-de-vie used for its elaboration are at least 10 years old. In this case, the eaux-de-vie used in the assembly of this product are at least 15 years old and up to 25 years old. This XO is to be enjoyed as a digestif or as a dessert with a Pont l'Évêque, a Livarot, a tarte Tatin or a chocolate or plain soufflé.

Cocktail Recipe

Laubade Royale

Ingredients:
- 60 ml Château de Laubade X.O. Armagnac
- 15 ml Cointreau
- 15 ml lemon juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 egg white
- 1 lemon twist, for garnish

Instructions:
1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the Château de Laubade X.O. Armagnac, Cointreau, lemon juice, Angostura bitters, and egg white.
2. Dry shake (without ice) vigorously for 10-15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for 10-15 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail.
4. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
5. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.
