Domaine des Baumard is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of the Loire Valley in France. The estate has a long history dating back to the 17th century when it was founded by the Baumard family. Today, the estate is run by the current owner, Florent Baumard, who has continued the family tradition of producing exceptional wines.

The vineyards of Domaine des Baumard are located in the Anjou and Savennières appellations, which are known for producing some of the finest white wines in the Loire Valley. The estate is particularly famous for its Chenin Blanc wines, which are made from grapes grown on the steep slopes of the Savennières appellation. The wines are known for their complexity, minerality, and aging potential.

Domaine des Baumard also produces a range of other white wines, including a dry Anjou Blanc, a sweet Coteaux du Layon, and a sparkling Crémant de Loire. The estate also produces a small amount of red wine, made from Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the Anjou appellation.

The style of production at Domaine des Baumard is focused on producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Loire Valley. The vineyards are farmed using sustainable and organic practices, and the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality. Logis de la Giraudière is a small distillery located in the Cognac region of France. The distillery has a long history dating back to the 18th century when it was founded by the Giraudière family. Today, the distillery is run by the current owner, Jean-Pierre Giraudière, who has continued the family tradition of producing exceptional Cognac.

The distillery produces a range of Cognacs, including VS, VSOP, and XO. The Cognacs are made using a combination of Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes, which are grown in the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne appellations. The grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented using natural yeasts. The wine is then distilled twice in copper pot stills to produce a high-quality eau-de-vie.

The eau-de-vie is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years, although some of the higher-end Cognacs are aged for up to 30 years. The aging process gives the Cognacs their characteristic flavors of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The Cognacs are then blended to create a consistent flavor profile across each of the different expressions.

The style of production at Logis de la Giraudière is focused on producing Cognacs that are true to the traditional methods of the region. The distillery uses only the highest quality grapes and follows a strict aging process to ensure that each Cognac is of the highest quality.

Tasting notes

An elegant nose of fresh red fruit, floral notes and hints of pepper. The palate is fresh, crunchy with nice body and soft tannins. The finish is long and balanced with hints of chocolate.
